English Composition – 1

This course offers students an opportunity to enhance their writing abilities by exploring the writing process through different rhetorical modes, including narration, persuasion, compare/contrast, and argumentation. Through engaging assignments and critical analysis of professional and peer work, students will develop approximately 12 pages of written content throughout the course. Emphasising the significance of both overall content revision and sentence-level editing, students are encouraged to refine their work for improved clarity and coherence. Additionally, the course equips students with effective research techniques and familiarises them with the Modern Language Association's (MLA-Version 8) APA formatting guidelines, ensuring ethical and accurate citation practices.
